Bike of the month September '13

Hey Forty8 Fans,

the guys at 139Designs did up a MC replica kit from back in the late 90's. McGrath was always one of my racing heroes and had the best style, so i wanted to pay tribute to the king when i got back on Hondas this year. Warp9 sets me up with a sweet wheel set every year and this year i kept it low key with a red hub, black oversize spokes, red nipples and black rims. I have been with DP brakes since back in my racing days and they make great brake pads that i use front and rear.

Jun over at ZETA/DRC/Z-CARBON hooks me up with all the red/and carbon fiber parts on my bike as well at the bars, skid plate and bike stand. DRC also supplies the red rad hoses for a cool look in the engine department. Jeff over at SDG gets me the sick white seat covers and i think they really complement the graphics.

I run Full Perch foot pegs from down unda ... these are the best foot pegs out there and a must for fmx. Jeff at FMF hooks the crf 450 up with a full Ti exhaust ... super bad ass !

The stock honda 450 uses a 48 tooth rear sprocket ... i bump that up to a 52 for fmx and it seems to be a dialed ratio. Renthal sprockets and ProTaper chains do the trick. Race Tech supplies my suspension, a 6.0 rear spring, gold valves front and rear, and an oversize bladder cap, all tuned by Ronnie at SIX12.

Im a big fan of the NoToil air filters and they are what i have run on all my bikes for the last 4 or 5 years. Becca at Spider Grips has been a long time sponsor and I'm still stoked on the M1 grips. I like a smooth throttle and the Protaper aluminum throttle tube with bearing takes care of that. Dag at Boyesen hooks up the sweet clutch cover, impeller and pump cover ... keepin the crf looking and running proper. Thanks to Nick at VP fuels for the t2 race fuel and another of my longtime sponsors Ronnie at Maxima oils keeps my hondas purring like a kitten.

Cheers
Paul
