Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2010 | Madrid
Story by Red Bull / Global-Newsroom.com

Andre Villa from Norway took top spot in Qualifying on Thursday evening for the main event of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2010 at the Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas. The victory means that the 27-year-old FMX hero can put his feet up and relax during the First Round on Friday night thanks to a wildcard through to the Quarter Finals.

Japan’s Eigo Sato, sixth in the overall standings going into the Madrid event, was fortunate to walk away from a heavy crash, hitting the landing hill hard after not picking up enough speed going into the kicker. However, fractures to his lower right arm mean that Sato will not be able to compete in the main event.

The Rookie Session saw Jackson Strong (AUS) and Maikel Melero (ESP) lay down milestones in their young careers by claiming the last two starting places in the field for the classic showdown.

Mat Rebeaud looking great on the bike doing a Cordova Backflip and placing 2nd in the Qualification.

Mike Mason with a great extended Backflip Nohander. Mike looked great on the Yamaha and placed 7th in the Qualification behind Adam Jones.

A crowd of over 25,000 will whip the legendary bullfighting arena in the Spanish capital into a frenzy on Friday night. The show begins at 9.30pm local time, with the event broadcast live via redbullxfighters.com from 10.30pm.
